On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye lies south of Dunvagan, directly on the shore of a bay as if conjured up, the snow-white small distillery Talisker. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831, and after their deaths numerous others took over the attempt to continue the distillery. All failed until a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over. Talisker was triple distilled until 1928, then only double. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today, Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits group. The Talisker Storm uses oak barrels with different ages, so this Talisker gets its typical stormy unpredictable character, which perfectly reflects the climate of the island.
