The whisky distillery Slyrs was opened in 1999 and is one of the biggest single malt whisky producers in Germany. The name of the distillery Slyrs is derived from the Schliersee and a monastery in Bavaria. The required barley comes from the north of Bavaria. In 2014 a warehouse was built in the Bavarian mountains - here the whisky is allowed to mature for 3 to 6 years in a Bavarian mountain climate. The special thing about this single malt is its finish in the rum cask. Awards: - Gold medal in 2019 at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in Cranleigh (London)Tasting notes:Colour: Amber.
