Bracklas was the first Scottish distillery to receive "royal" status. This honour was bestowed on the distillery in 1833 by King William IV. In 2015, three new Royal Brackla Single Malts have been introduced to the market. These are considered to be part of the last great malts from John Dewar & Sons. The Royal Brackla 12 Years Old matures for 12 years in Olorosso sherry barrels.Tasting notes:Colour: gold. Nose: malty, cereals, apples, malts, a hint of vanilla and nuts. Taste: Apples, grapes, vanilla Notes of dark chocolate, hints of honey, sherry and spices. Finish: Long lasting, mild spices, slightly chocolaty.
